This logo was designed for a geotechnical engineering company that specializes in drilling. What sets them apart from other companies is their range of drills,including a smaller drill that allows them to access tighter spaces and undertake a wider variety of projects. I integrated this distinctive drill into the design of the 'H' and 'D' to underscore its pivotal role in the company's identity.
My Process
I talked more with the client about their company and learned they focus on drilling in tight spaces. They use a special orange drill made by Mr. Herc that can fit in small, hard-to-reach areas. This drill is a big part of their brand.
Sketching things out
After our talk, I started sketching different ideas. I went through several rounds until I found a design I liked, and the client was happy with it too, then took it into illustrator to develop it fully.
