What a fantastic experience it was traveling  to Poland with my Grandma Gene. She has not been back since coming to America after WWII. It was incredibly special to be able to share her love of the polish language, culture, and listen as she shared her younger life experiences. As a child she lived in this beautiful country until the Nazi German invasion. Her whole family was taken away from their home, placed on a train in a cattle car and sent to a work camp in Germany. They were forced to live at this camp until their liberation at the end of the war and her family's journey to America.
