Nest hotels

For this project, I redesigned a hospitality brand by expanding its reach and adding a strong focus on sustainability, creating Nest Hotels. Through research, I learned the ins and outs of the original brand, how they operate and market themselves, and used that knowledge to build an even stronger presence that makes guests feel more welcomed. The brand offers affordable, eco-friendly accommodations in both cities and rural areas, making travel more accessible. I introduced the Always Sustainable initiative, ensuring high cleanliness standards, eco-friendly products, and energy-efficient practices. With a fresh brand identity and an updated website that connects guests to local experiences, Nest Hotels is always ready for anyone’s landing.

My Process

Finally, I compiled a brand standards manual, presenting the complete visual identity, including logo usage, typography, and packaging guidelines. This served as a clear reference for maintaining consistency across all brand touchpoints.

I researched the hotel brand from head to toe, documenting everything from its founding history to small details like the type of toilet paper used in the bathrooms… My goal was to understand every aspect of the brand before developing its new identity. I explored various type studies to determine how I wanted the brand to look and feel. After my research, I came up with the name Nest; a simple, friendly name that holds a deeper meaning.

Studying the Letterforms

After finding the name Nest, I took these letterforms and studied them in different ways to see what really stood out as the essence of the brand I was trying to create for the rebrand. The first few rounds focused on analyzing the structure and characteristics of the letters to determine how they could visually represent the brand’s identity.

Research & Concept Development

Once I had a strong understanding of the letterforms, I shifted my focus to defining what I wanted the symbol to represent. I revisited my initial research and expanded on the list of key words associated with the brand. The concept that stood out most was connections and support, which led me to explore knots, specifically, the square knot. The square knot is a universal symbol of strength and reliability, reinforcing the brand’s message. Building on this idea, I experimented with different colors for the primary logo. After finalizing the primary mark, I developed a cohesive primary and secondary color palette to maintain consistency across the brand.
